PUPPIES
All puppies are $2500, regardless of sex or color
A show prospect puppy will conform as closely as possible to the AKC and CKCSC standards for the “perfect” Cavalier. That means the markings, conformation, bite and movement will be just so. In addition, the puppy will demonstrate a flair for exhibition. He/she will stand up proudly and have that “look at me” attitude. Keep in mind, a show prospect is just that – a prospect. There is never a guarantee that a puppy showing early potential as a show dog will, in fact, turn out to be successful in the show ring.
A pet quality puppy is merely one that the breeder has decided is lacking in some way required to make a successful show dog. It could be something as simple as too much of a particular color, or color placed in the wrong area. It could mean the dog doesn’t have a perfect “scissor” bite or is a bit long in the back or doesn’t have quite the right feel to its coat. “Pet quality” does NOT mean it is an inferior dog. Just that it’s not as likely to be a show champion when competing against dogs that are closer to the ideal standard.
Yes, they are registered with the AKC and are sold with limited AKC registration (without breeding/showing rights) to ensure loving homes and discourage those who follow puppy mill practices.
Yes! You are more than welcome to come pick up your puppy on Kauai, we also provide hand delivery to other islands and the other 49 states.
I am very careful with each and every puppy that is placed. If you wish to breed/show your future puppy, please send me an email explaining your breeding/showing plan and why you think it would be beneficial to the breed and/or your showing history/aspirations. If I believe it to be the best for the breed, there would be an added fee to the sale price and I will make myself available every step of the way.

SERVICES
The stud fee starts at $1500 depending on limited/full registration and other factors.
Females are accepted on a case-by-case basis and you must first complete the Stud Questionnaire to be considered. After being received and approved, we will reach out to go over specific details and provide our contract.
We accept any Hanai produced dog for our services when available. Since we often have puppies in our home, we want to make sure everyone will co-exist happily and safely.
If we have availability in our schedule and your pet has been approved to board with us, the last step is to provide their up-to-date vaccination records. Once those have been received, your booking will be confirmed!
We require that you bring their collar, leash and food. We suggest and encourage bringing whatever will make your pet(s) most comfortable: bed, crate, toys etc.
We offer 2 week, 5 week and 9 week packages and the older the litter gets, the more specialized care they require for the various developmental stages. Each package includes around the clock care for dam and litter, individualized puppy care and assistance with finding puppy homes if necessary. Regular updates and pictures are always provided.
GENERAL
Cavaliers have a life expectancy of between 9-12 years, with some reaching 13-15 depending on their health and diet.
Cavaliers are truly wonderful with kids and other pets. They are gentle and patient and seem to really like small children (I know Pua’a sure does!).
After years of searching for the best dog food and trying many brands and types, we strongly stand by Crave Dog Food for adults and NUTRO ULTRA for puppies.
This is a common occurance in Cavaliers and is called reverse-sneezing and often happens when they are excited. A very effective way to help is to completely block their nostrils, this will force them to open their mouth and stop the snorting. Other options some find effective are blowing in the nostrils and pushing their muzzle to point toward the ground.
Cavaliers benefit from daily brushing with special attention to behind the ears where they can easily develop mats.
Weekly combing with an undercoat comb will help with shedding since it pulls out the dead hairs that are trapped near the skin.
Once a month bathing (every other month under 1 years old) is usually sufficient unless you take them out for hikes, swims or anywhere they get excessively dirty.
When it comes to grooming/clipping, I suggest that you only get sanitary trims and their paw pads cleaned up. If you have a cavalier with a thick/heavy/long coat and can’t or don’t have time to keep up with the extra brushing/detangling, you may want to have it shortened but NOT shaved/clipped short in order to prevent the matting that will inevitably happen.
Remember, mats aren’t just inconvenient/unattractive – left untended to they will end up pulling on the skin and causing great discomfort to your Cavalier.
